Happy Halloween!

What are your fondest memories of Halloween? Mine had to be when I was in 5th or 6th grade. I had so much fun dressing up and trick-or-treating in the neighborhood. It was us against the world or rather ghosts, goblins, and witches for the night. lol. I remember when we went to the houses that handed out the little candy bags, we hit the jackpot! Apples and pennies.. not so much. At the end of the night, we would dump out all our candy and start trading for those that we loved and forced our friends to take the ones we hated. No one ever liked Mary Janes (the peanut butter taffy filled with peanuts inside) or rootbeer barrels.  They were considered "old lady" candy but I loved them and still do! Imagine, if they were "old lady" candy when I was growing up, they must be considered antique by now haha but you can still find this "old fashioned" candy in candy stores. Back then, we had to pick up the phone, yes the one that is connected by the land line, and call our parents to come pick us up. No cell phones,no texting, you had to ask your friends parents to use the phone to call home for a ride. Oh times have definitely changed. I loved how it was so simple back then just enjoying each other's company and time without distractions from our cell phones, emailing, texting, youtubing, candy crushing (ok, guilty at that one). But I definitely try to be in the present and enjoy the personal conversations with people that are important to me and make those memories because it's time that you can't ever get back. I wish everyone a safe and Happy Halloween with their loved ones! Trick-or-treat, Smell my FEET!  (baby already playing tricks from the womb 😁)
